Light, Balanced or Deep: Which Humanizer Mode Should You Use?
Prosify's AI humanizer has three modes. Here's what each one changes, when to use it, and how to pick the right one for your draft.
Three modes, one goal
Prosify’s AI humanizer rewrites AI generated text so it reads like you wrote it. The three modes control how much it changes.
Light
What it does: Swaps out the most obvious AI tells: stock transitions like “moreover” and “furthermore,” overly formal phrasing, and the predictable three item lists models love.
What it keeps: Your original sentence structure, argument order and examples stay intact. Light mode makes the fewest changes of any mode.
When to use it: When your draft is mostly good and you just want to smooth over the telltale AI phrases. Good for text you’ve already edited by hand and want a final pass on, or for short pieces where structure doesn’t matter much.
Typical score drop: 10–25 points on an AI detector.
Balanced
What it does: Everything Light does, plus it varies sentence length, simplifies vocabulary and adds rhythm changes. Balanced mode restructures some sentences to break the even, predictable cadence that AI detectors key on.
What it keeps: Your main points and argument flow. It won’t add new ideas or remove your examples. It rewrites the surface, not the substance.
When to use it: The default for most drafts. If you’re not sure which mode to pick, start here. It’s the best tradeoff between score reduction and staying close to your original text.
Typical score drop: 25–50 points on an AI detector.
Deep
What it does: The most aggressive rewrite. Deep mode restructures paragraphs, replaces abstract claims with more concrete phrasing, breaks up long uniform passages and varies tone across sections. The output reads the most “human” but departs the most from the input.
What it keeps: The core argument and key facts. Everything else is fair game for restructuring.
When to use it: When the original draft is heavily AI generated and a light pass won’t be enough, or when you need the lowest possible detector score. Also useful for longer pieces (1,000+ words) where the repetitive rhythm of AI becomes especially obvious.
Typical score drop: 40–70 points on an AI detector.
How to pick
- Run the detector first. Paste your text into the AI detector and note your starting score.
- If the score is under 30% AI: try Light. A few phrase swaps might be all you need.
- If the score is 30–60% AI: start with Balanced. Check the result and bump to Deep if needed.
- If the score is over 60% AI: go straight to Deep.
You can always rerun with a different mode. The humanizer doesn’t lock you in. Switch and compare until you’re happy with the result.
One more thing
No mode replaces your own thinking. The humanizer fixes how the text sounds, not what it says. Add your own examples, cut anything you wouldn’t actually write, and always do a final read before submitting.
